SEATS Community Highlights Global ICHE Developments in Integration of Faith and Learning

The South East Asian Theological Schools (SEATS) shares highlights from the recent International Christian Higher Education (ICHE) virtual gathering held on June 10, where nearly 100 participants joined online from around the world.
While in-person meetings were preferred, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect virtually and were reminded of their shared unity in Christ, common mission, and commitment to advancing higher education shaped by a Christian worldview.
The gathering featured brief presentations on emerging areas of integration between faith and academic life. Dr. Dosoung Choi reflected on the intersection of faith and artificial intelligence, Dr. Jeff Clawson addressed faith and student formation, and Rev. Diego Xavier contributed insights from the Latin American context on faith and learning integration.
Participants were encouraged to access forthcoming resources through the ICHE website at ICHE Network, including selected materials from the presenters and the book Expressing Life: A Primer on Integrating Faith & Learning, which is serving as a foundational text for growing initiatives in Latin America and East Africa.
Attention was also drawn to upcoming opportunities, including the annual Congress on Integration of Faith & Learning hosted by UniEvangelica on August 21–22. The event will be held virtually, with plans for an in-person gathering in early 2026.
Members were further reminded of available ICHE resources, including the Global Digital Theological Library and accreditation support services for member institutions. Leaders were encouraged to explore how these tools might support institutional development and academic strengthening.
Reports and images shared during the gathering highlighted the expanding global movement of faith-learning integration, particularly across Latin America and Africa. This two-year developmental process is increasingly shaping the thinking and practice of university leaders, including deans, department chairs, administrators, and boards.
SEATS joins ICHE in celebrating this growing global collaboration in Christian higher education.
